Sizes run big, even though they are meant to go over your clothing if you think you’re an extra large buy large.

Jan 20, 2016 UPDATE:Well its El Niño in California and these pants are not holding up. It was pouring, driving rain today and the rain soaked through in a five mile bike ride. Disappointed. I'm glad they're cheap because they are going in the bin now. These pants have failed on the two points that I consider important for me; waterproofness and durability. The pants at first worked well in light rain, kept my pants fairly dry but they are wearing out after only a half dozen uses. The stitching is not sealed and lets water in, and the entire surface is seeping too. Also the seat of the pants have worn through on my part of riding a bike. I fixed that by iron on patches, looks ugly but now its the only thing that is holding up. Also the velcro cuffs are too sticky and one of them ripped apart when I tried to open the leg cuff after a ride. I need sturdy and reliable equipment. The other pants I've used are waterproof, but wear out in the seat. I have an old pair of Army bib-style rainpants that must be at least 30 years old and while they are bulky and heavy, they work without a complaint and I'll have to go back to those and look for something else in the meantime. I'm not considering a return or a refund but take this as a lesson learned from experience and hopefully other consumers will take my review as fair and honest.(Previous review and intial comments) I have gone through several pairs of rain pants over 20 years of bike commuting. Different brands like Hitec, H2O, Columbia... Most are made with a flimsy style of nylon that don't hold up. And I know what are durable from experience. These Frog Togs seem to be made from a tougher material, almost like fabric. I have a pair of Swiss military bib-rain pants that are made out of corduroy and feel similar. The inner material looks similar to what is on the inside of my North face raincoat. These are fairly light and can roll up to about a long sleeve t-shirt in volume and make for easy packing. The stitching is excellent and excellent zippers with pass-through openings. I wear an honest 36 waist and 32 inseam and the large fits perfect with a pair of jeans underneath. A little loose, but that is great for commuter cycling. The lower leg cuff system should work but I use those reflective bike bands around the ankle anyways. I'll update after it starts raining again in California and report on waterproofiness, but just needed to review that this was $20 bucks well spent. My other pants have cost over $30.
