Soccer is one of the top 5 sports for head injuries and concussions. Every child playing soccer should have a head guard or helmet. Football, hockey, lacrosse and rugby players wear helmets. Kids on bicycles wear helmets. So why don't soccer players? The culture of soccer needs to change! This head guard looks more like a head band than a helmet, so there was no reluctance on the part of my boy in wearing it. It's comfortable and looks cool. Since this head guard doesn't go up very high on the skull, I'd recommend getting the Full 90 F1 helmet instead for more complete head protection. My boy still got bopped in the head by flying balls and falls on the turf this season. Also, the thickness, density and energy absorption of the foam should be beefed up by Full90. But partial head protection that's actually worn is better than a full helmet that a kid might be embarrassed to wear. The S/M size fit my 7 1/2 y/o boy well, and the royal blue color matched his soccer uniform well. My boy loves it!

My now 13 year old son has been wearing Full90 for the past 3 years in multiple sports including flag football, soccer and basketball. Not only does it act as a headband keeping his longer hair out of his eyes, but has protected him from concussion multiple times. He has bumped heads in flag football, fallen to the court in basketball and taken a ball to the head in soccer. I think Full90 is well worth the money.

Excellent headgear for the price. Got the medium size because my son's measurements were right on the edge. Fits great, but the ear cutout is a bit too far forward given how it adjusts so the back edge hits the back of his ear. That would drive me bonkers, but he doesn't mind. Figure the L size would fix that issues and totally get trying to make a universal design to fit all heads and ear placements is tough. But after a scary concussion (non soccer related - go figure), he's worn this as a keeper ever since. He prefers the band type style to the full skull cap and while it may offer a little less protection - it's a tradeoff to ensure he wears it.

This is a great product. My daughter incurred a concussion after a head on head clash over a soccer ball in the air. She ended up blacked out on the ground with a moderate concussion. She had a tournament 6 days later. ER doctor said only way she could play and protect herself from permanent injury was go wear the Full90. It was light weight, washable, and even has a hole for the ponytail which helps to hold it in place. My daughter hated to put it on, but with her two black eyes and the headgear, she looked pretty menacing! We played next to another team with 7 girls wearing the Full90. Great protection, you may need to fight them to wear it, but it gives you both a real peace of mind knowing you're protected against a concussion.
