I don't stain wood very often, it's been years, but I like this product! While building a small roof over part of my courtyard, took out the stain which was easy to use and had nice coverage. It was not necessary to stain the ceiling bracings since it will have tin to cover them. Will also be installing gutters, but parts will be seen, and it gives a more complete look without the lumber showing, and protects the wood. Though falling off of the ladder has set me back on this little project, I am ready to stain some more! There is plenty in this large bottle. The color is perfect and it seems quite durable.

The main goal for this purchase was to stain something in situ that couldn't smell like oil stain for a week. For that, this stuff is great. It accomplishes it's main mission of low or no VOC emission. The color is nice (I've only tried the mahogany) but that's about it. This stuff acts nothing like conventional stain. It dries ridiculously fast, so although it absorbs readily into the wood while wet, you have a very small window to even out the application. You will need every trick in the staining book to get anything like an even application without blotches or spots or lines someplace where you didn't get to it quick enough. If I spent some time learning how this stuff works, and trying different pre-treating and application methods, I'm sure it couldn't be very useful, but I been doing this for over 50 years, I really don't want to have to start to learn how to stain all over again in order to use some badly concieved product. I'll use this on very small pieces or when odor is a problem, but when it's gone I doubt I'll get more. Formulation needs work.Just went out and looked at the piece I just stained, came back in and took off another star. It just looks awful. I went and looked at the web site to see if there's a trick I'm missing. On the web site they recommend sanding the surface to 320 grit. Any experienced woodworker knows that's bad advice, especially with a product like this that will almost instantly dry on the surface of your piece.

I have tried markers, crayons, and filler… This stain is fantastic. The color was a great match and the consistency was easy to use. Very light non abrasive smell. While I have a lot of work to still do on my floors, this stain is fantastic.
