Een degelijk product! Ik heb het al maanden in gebruik.

First, the good part. Unlike the cheap lighters from the supermarket, this one feels sturdy and pleasantly heavy in hand. It feels safe, which is important, because a jet lighter is a bit scary (especially to my husband…) The pressurised gas hisses like a burst pipe, but when lit – I use it on nearly the lowest setting, because I am not welding with it – it produces a flame that immediately lights up a candle or a firestarter for the woodburner/BBQ. It’s long enough to reach underneath the kindling and the metal top part gives a nice, secure feeling. While it’s not really marked clearly and I picked it up the wrong way round a few times, it’s impossible to light it up upside down.Now, here’s the part I don’t like: the spark is either not strong enough, or… or I don’t know what, but three out of four times the gas (not delivered with the lighter, just FYI) fails to light up. I have no idea whether a jet lighter uses more fuel or the same as a regular one, but I did not know that it’s going to be more difficult to fire it up than random single-use ten-for-three-euros lighters. Perhaps my unit is slightly faulty, I can’t tell without buying another one for comparison, but it’s definitely not ‘bad’ enough to return.Overall, if I were to buy a jet lighter again I would probably try another brand, but I might be disappointed with that one as well. I don’t know what the problem is or even whether it is a problem, maybe those lighters just work that way.

Werkt prima, voelt solide aan. Je moet hem dus nog wel vullen voor gebruik.
