Not sure if it's my Tom Tom or battery problem.it jus charged and worked for 20 minutes or so.then went off for good.nolonger charging

I have a TomTom Go 500 and the battery was completely knackered. On a positive note, this battery was a direct replacement with the correct plug going easily into the appropriate connector on the PCB. It booted up straight away and is now on charge appearing to work properly.The set of fitting tools that came with it is a complete joke, they are soft plastic, badly formed and made the job very difficult leaving my hands sore. The whole kit is in the bin now. I used them to try them out, but I should have used something proper to do the job. If it had been the battery on it's own it would have been 5*, but since they put an inadequate tool kit in with it, it has to drop a star.

When ordering the 'Fuworance GPS Battery Compatible with Tomtom Go 5000, Go 500, Start 60 M Europe Traffic.....' and your satnav is literally the first one listed you be forgiven for thinking that you had ordered the correct battery to replace.In the kit is a battery, some glue, some adhesive strips, a mini screwdriver set and some plastic separating tools, pry levers etc. The quality of the screwdriver set is basic, the plastic tools are the same quality as all the free tools that arrive for this sort of thing and are really one or 2 uses before they need to go in the bin.My satnav is a TomTom Go 5000, I ordered it from Amazon quite a few years ago and it does need a new battery now.I split the case using the tools provided and removed a power lead that goes from the base to the top of the screen (not sure exactly what it is for) and I folded the unit open making sure not to kink the screen ribbon cable - I left the ribbon cable attached as I could easily get to the battery now.Checking the stats of the new battery versus the old one, I was concerned that the new battery had less capacity from new than the old one had. I also noticed the size was smaller and the plug was different and incompatible to my TomTom. This meant that the kit I ordered is functionally useless to me and I had taken my TomTom apart unnecessarily.The price of £15.99 is pretty irrelevant to me as the item is misdescribed and is not suitable for my model of satnav. Sometimes a poor description does not matter - in this case it does matter.Not suitable for a TomTom Go 5000. I have very generously given this 2 stars as I am sure this is probably suitable for some satnavs and is capable of opening a satnav at least once.
