My custom-made bathroom mirror cabinet, equipped with halogen lights nearly two decades old, began experiencing spontaneous shutdowns mere minutes after being switched on. As part of my ongoing "Go-LED" initiative, replacing the three G4 20W halogen bulbs with LED lamps was already in the cards. Alongside this, I bought a thin 15W 230VAC/12VDC LED driver, suspecting the old 60W 220VAC/12VAC driver to be the culprit.The transition proved fruitful: the trio of LED lamps now illuminates with greater lumens and, most importantly, without any flickering, all while consuming a fraction of the power. What's more, the new driver effortlessly slots into the designated space within the cabinet's switch box. Refer to the attached images for a visual walkthrough of the replacement process.Here are some key considerations when making the switch to LED lighting:• Flickering: Swap out outdated drivers—typically AC/AC—for suitable AC/DC drivers. Older models are tailored for filament bulbs, which are less susceptible to rapid voltage fluctuations. This principle extends to dimmers as well.• Size: Ensure compatibility with the housing. Luckily, the LED lamps in this instance fit snugly, albeit with a 10mm thickness due to a component on the backside.• Connectors: Verify that connectors aren't excessively long. While the ones I encountered were longer than standard G4 connectors, they could be easily trimmed.Numerous reviewers have reported issues like flickering and failing (likely due to incompatible drivers) and broken contacts (perhaps from being forced into the socket without proper trimming).One minor observation is that the LED lamps emit some heat. While they don't reach the scorching temperatures of 20W halogen bulbs, exercise caution nonetheless.I wholeheartedly recommend this product as a seamless replacement for halogen bulbs, provided you pair it with a suitable driver and trim connectors as necessary.

I put 2 of these and a new transformer in my Ikea kitchen hood and they work great! More light than the original 10 Watt halogen bulbs. Let's hope they last longer than the other brand of LED lights I bought before, those only lasted about 6 months.

These LED 12v lights are so good and bright. They are great value for money They fit perfectly in the lamp holders I have in my kitchen units originally designed to take the 12v 10/20w halogen bulb. They gave off a lot of heat and over the years the plastic bulb holder gets distorted or breaks off. I got some LED bulbs that were fully encased in plastic and did not fit snuggly where the original halogen bulb fitted and they flickered so were of no use as they did not work with the original 12v transformers. However, I gave these a try and they work perfectly with the original 12v transformer. The white light given off is fantastic. It is a lot better than my original halogen bulbs and they do not heat up so much.

DieLeuchten unter unseren Küchenschränken waren mit Halogenlampen ausgerüstet. 7 x 20 Watt.Ich war skeptisch ob diese flächigen LED Lampen wirklich in das (ziemlich) kleine Gehäuse passen. Aber: alles passt und schaut sogar noch besser als als die Stiftsockellampen. Die Beleuchtung? Super - wir haben das Gefühl, dass alles heller ist (wahrscheinlich eher wegen der etwas "weißeren" LIchtfarbe).Aber statt 140 Watt verbrauchen wir nur noch 14 Watt. Meine Halogentrafos habe ich gegen kleine LED Trafos ausgetauscht - war in 10 Minuten getan.Ob das wirklich nötig ist? Ausprobieren! Ich hatte noch 3 LED Lampen übrig und habe die Halogenlampen in unserer Dunstabzugshaube einfach ausgetauscht (der zugehörige Trafo steckt tief in den Eingeweiden des Gerätes). Hat ohne Probleme geklappt. Kein Flackern, kein Brummen. Tolle Ausleuchtung und wieder rund 50 Watt eingespart.
