Regarding the ball itself, it is durable and solid, which is what I would expect from Gaiam. It comes with a tape that allows you to inflate the ball to its designated size. I thought this was great because you may think its reached its max based on firmness, but there is still room to inflate.The base is fine, but the cables I thought were useless. With some of the exercises, you cannot get any resistance because the range of motion is too limited.

I purchased the Gaiam Balance Ball & Base Kit specifically because it comes with an inflatable ring base, which adds stability and prevents the ball from rolling away—a great feature. The quality is excellent, and the size (65cm) is exactly as described.Inflation is a two-step process: pump the ball to 80% on the first day, deflate it slightly the next day, and then fully inflate it to its intended size. This was easy to follow, and the ball feels perfectly firm and sturdy now.I originally bought this as a birth ball for pregnancy, but I can see myself using it afterward for exercise or even as a chair. It holds up well even when bouncing on it, which is reassuring.My only minor disappointments are that I missed a discount shortly after purchasing and that it’s not available in black (a color I would have preferred). However, these are small points compared to how well the ball performs.Overall, it’s a nice product that meets my expectations! Highly recommended.

I’ve been pleased with my Amazon purchases so far but this was a disappointment. Firstly, the pump that came with the item was a cheap manual foot pump (the kind that you get with you inflatables), unlike the hand pump featured in the listing. Secondly, the ball is far from its supposed full size of 65cm when fully inflated. I followed the instructions and waited 24 hrs to deflate by 50% and re-inflate but it was still at least 10cm off the mark the second time (see photo), even after pumping repeatedly. Not sure if a better pump would’ve helped but it’s seemed the ball was already at its max possible size.Definitely expected better of Gaiam.
