The GAN ME is probably the best speed cube for beginners. It has smooth turning and magnets and it's quite affordable. Its easy to use and the functions are incredible.The colours are extremely vibrant and the UV coating gives it the an amazing glossy finish.

I already had a decent Rubik's cube....or I thought I did until I got this one. The precision of the movement is so much better. its got a very solid feel but with no resistance to rotation in any direction - never bnds or feels stiff.The cube has a lot of little magnets embedded on the inside surface of many of the cube elements, which I believe is to ensure better alignment of the planes for speed-cubers. I do not possess this level of skill, so I don't know how much benefit it provides, but its obvious how much effort the designers have put in makin the cube as good as it can be.The cube is presented in a nice quality box with a plastic caddy inside to hold the cube, but also a little velvet draw-string bag, which to be honest I doubt I will ever use, but its a nice touch. Also the instructions provide some guidance on solving the cube, and directions for tuning the tesnion of the cube's mechanism using a little tool supplied - each of the middle face segments has a removable plastic cap (pried off with the little tool) revealing a tension adjuster.I am still fascinated with this and I expect it will last a long time.
