I’ve tried load of feeders. None has proven perfect, but these (IMHO) are the best that I’ve come across for sunflower seeds, sunflower hearts and/or peanuts. The large, hooped handle makes the feeder very easy to hang up or take down (why can’t all feeders have handles like this?). The top flips up, instead of having to be unscrewed, which is another bonus – it’s quick and easy, and you don’t have to find somewhere to put the lid while you’re refilling the feeder. The two perches (opposite each other) suit all the small, perching seed and nut-eating birds in our garden – gold finches, green finches, bull finches, blue tits, great tits, coal tits, long-tailed tits etc - and the large aperture and wide trough makes it easy for all of them to access seeds. The only birds (in our garden) that don’t like it are the lesser spotted woodpecker and nuthatch, who need something to cling onto when eating.On its own, in isolation, the feeder is almost squirrel-proof. But, if it’s close to anything that squirrels can hang off or perch on, they soon learn to tip the feeder so the seeds run out.The trough does have small drain holes around the base, but, if it rains, chewed-up seeds and husks that collect in the trough turn to pulp that has to be cleaned out. That seems to be a messy fact of life common to all feeders.The base twists off very easily to allow the feeder to be cleaned properly – I haven’t broken one yet, but the catch is not the most robust that I’ve seen, so it’s worth taking a little care when twisting the base on or off.In brief:It’s easy to hang upIt’s easy to fillIt’s easy to cleanIt’s good valueMost importantly – the birds like it

These are really good feeders for wild birds. I have quite a few different types and I have to say that I prefer these ones. They are easy to fill and as they are clear plastic they keep the food dry and you can easily see when the food is running low. I fill mind with a mix of mealworms, berry suet pellets and mixed seeds. I have two and hang them on a tree or the 'bird stand'. They are very popular with the birds - I fill them up and the birds come flocking.Very pleased with these and would order again. Highly recommended.

I am very disappointed the parcel arrived with only 1 Green base. So I can’t use the other as the mealworms will fall out.

These feeders are so easy to fill & clean. Birds are loving their new feeders.
