And no, it didn't do it because I made any specific changes - it just felt like it. This kind of inconsistent behavior is what nightmares are made of, especially in the realm of software.Speaking of Garmin Express, it's the emptiest app in the history of emptiness. It's good for one thing and one thing only - fixing map issues and updating software. Forget about pasting GPX files into it; you'll need to employ another piece of software for that. So, it's essentially an app that's supposed to make your life easier but just leaves you scratching your head.Now, let's talk about importing trip data. When it comes to GPX files for road trips, this thing's idea of calculation seems to be stuck at 96% on repeat, like some bad '90s pop song. Sometimes it doesn't even get off the starting block, stuck at a glorious 0%. It works only when it feels like it, probably when it's having a good day. This level of inconsistency should be a Guinness World Record in the "How Not to Design Software" category.Garmin, I hate to break it to you, but you're a one-trick pony. This device can barely do 10% of what my old OnePlus Android phone can do. I'd rather dust off that trusty old phone, fire up Waze, and enjoy a much smoother, more feature-rich experience. Sadly, the 449 euros I dropped on this gadget now feel like they've vanished into the abyss.Am I still using it, you ask? Well, reluctantly, yes. I reserve it for those quick A-to-B rides when I can't be bothered with the hassle. For trip planning, though, I turn to my dependable Android, where I can tap into a world of navigation apps that actually work.This whole ordeal has shown me just how far mobile phone technology has come compared to these archaic navigation systems. Garmin, it's time to step out of the '90s and catch up with the modern world of navigation. Until then, my motorcycle and I will be navigating into the future without you.
