These switches are very smooth and, for $30 for a full set, it's a bargain. If you're looking for a thocky sounding switch, look no further.

Reviewing keyboard switches is difficult, because it's such a subjective topic. Some people enjoy clicky switches, others prefer tactile, and yet others are club linear. Even then, there are different weight switches, different sounds coming from them, different housing materials, etc. While I find something to enjoy about all three types of switches, for day-to-day typing I prefer Gateron Yellow Pro switches. They're budget friendly and are medium weight, so they're fairly light, but not TOO light. Compared to other switches I've used, they feel buttery smooth, and the Pro switches come with decent factory lube - I do not have the patience, nor the hand function, to disassemble and lube my own switches!I've tried regular, Pro, and Pro 2.0 and 3.0 switches, but read good things about the Gateron Milky Yellow Pros, so I decided to give them a try. I bought a set of 36, which is enough to cover the alphas, which is all I truly need, since I prefer tactile switches (Feker Pandas are a nice match-up) on the modifier keys.As you may guess from the name, Gateron Milky Yellow switches have a milky, translucent housing instead of the transparent one used in the "regular" Gateron Pro Yellow variants. It's still RGB-friendly, but offers a more diffuse lighting experience. The nylon housing used for the Milky Yellow switches means a relatively less scratchy experience compared to its transparent housing siblings, offering a smoother, relatively more buttery experience - and I already found the Gateron Pro, Pro 2.0 and Pro 3.0 switches to possess a very smooth, satisfying typing experience. That extra smoothness results in a switch that somehow feels slightly lighter than the Yellow Pros, even though both share 50 gf operation force, and fairly similar force travel curves. The Milky Yellow Pro switches also offer a slightly quieter, deeper, sound, often described as "thock" by those in the hobby (yes, sound preferences are ALSO a thing!).Do be aware that these are 5-pin switches, vs. 3-pin switches. If your keyboard uses 3-pin switches, you will need to clip the 2 plastic pins!Having tried these Gateron Milky Yellow Pro, factory lubed switches, I am definitely a fan!
