I bought this to compare to the readings I get from the Gates Carbon Drive app (bicycles). I was hesitant because of the doubts raised on some sites saying that this is an automotive tool and wouldn't do the job - you had to buy the Gates Carbon Drive krikit tool made specifically for bicycles - although some users said the automotive krikit worked just fine at less than half the price. Well, if you want to spend twice as much or more on the so-called bicycle specific krikit, fill yer boots. But this one, #91107 Krikit, works just as well. From reading what other cyclists had discovered, it seems that the only difference between the bike krikit and this auto krikit, is that the bike krikit was calibrated so that the optimum or average tension would be 'shown' in the middle of the scale that's printed on the gauge. With this auto krikit, the tension I'm getting, shows on the low end of the scale, i.e. 30 - 35 lbs. And, interestingly enough, on the Gates Carbon Drive website, the video on "how to check your bike's belt tension", shows the instructor using the krikit that is displaying exactly the same scale as I've described on this auto krikit, #91107 - and when he checks 'his' bike in the video, the gauge shows roughly 35lbs. So save yourself some money and get the #91107 krikit. (I'm using it on a bicycle with a Pinion gearbox and Gates Carbon drive belt).

Used this to adjust belt tension on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. It worked perfectly , I would suggest buying this before eyeballing tension on your belts. My belts were all either too tight or too loose just trying to eyeball it based on methods I had read. Everything runs way smoother now after checking and adjusting tension.
