This Is Not

My toddler has been into bubbles lately, I decided to pick this up for them to use at her grandma's house where they have a small porch. The size of this unit is small, which makes it nice for the size of their porch. It doesn't take up much space, but I do recommend putting it on a small plate or tray because it will drip outside of the drip tray. There's an included drip tray which needed to be about 1" bigger in diameter to fully work. The unit runs off 4 AA batteries, which aren't included. You did get some of the bubble refill liquid. The design works well. Simply pour some of the bubble liquid in the top and the unit has a large fan that's constantly on with a second motor that turns the bubble wands. They will dip themselves into the bubble liquid and rotate over the fan.It makes a ton of bubbles that are higher quality than other bubble systems I've used, which were generally cheap. These bubbles will float in the air for a while and often times float a solid 50-60 ft away before popping. When they do pop, a small white bit is leftover that easily wipes away with just your hand. They don't leave sticky, soapy residue behind. The machine is not that durable though. My toddler kept sticking their finger on the wand section and it would stop turning. I get it, they need to make this kid-safe, but still. I also think dropping this on concrete would destroy it due to thin plastic it's made of. The bubble refill solution is sticky and thick. I tried using other solutions in this and they worked, but the Gazillion brand bubble refill solution works the best. Just stick with that even if it is a little expensive.Battery life seems great. This machine has been run everyday for about 30 minutes (the time it takes for the reservoir to empty) for the last 3 weeks and the batteries are still good. My toddler enjoys walking around and popping the bubbles, waving their arms to pop them, and letting them hit their face.Cleanup stops this from getting a perfect score. There's an included drip tray, which is too small, that lets you pour the collected solution back into the top of the bubble machine or into its source bottle. You then have to remove the bubble wand configuration to get to the top reservoir, which also lets you pour off back into the source bottle. You're now sitting there with three things that all need cleaned and the Gazillion solution is thick. I have to run the motor and fan assembly under a full flowing tap for a solid 3-4 minutes before it's clean, the bubble wands require almost the same level of water to clean. That's why it's only used once a day. Having three separate things that need to dry is a pain. Other than that, this is a great machine that my kid thinks is fun.
