I was hoping this would have the solid shaft and plastic handle. I guess this is why it was discounted.I'll give it 4 stars because it's still damn decent for $13 , had I paid more , I'd have been a tad more annoyed.

This is new fashion line from Gedore Blue. But on the picture is the old one. I don't like handle shape of new Gedore Blue. You will receive item that is different from the pictured. Not happy.

Check the photo attached to this review to see how the screwdriver actually looks.The previous reviewer's edits are correct on all points: this is a cheaper version of the original. Though some people may find the rubber overmold a welcome change, I was specifically looking for the solid plastic original Gedore handle (I still have the old ones that do have those).The older model's one-piece shaft is what commanded the premium price (compare for example with Stahlwille drivers). This newer model has a separate, pressed on bit holder which appears to be stainless steel. The hold is slightly looser than a comparable which also has a sturdier, all-CRV steel shaft (and an insanely strong magnet).The Gedore signature flat profile handle is still there, but given the more "economical" construction, and some doubts that it is still made in Germany, it should be priced around $20. Still, I paid less than that for mine, and in no position to complain too much.

This is my second one. The solid one-piece shaft with a strong magnet and neat engravings on the metal shaft including the model number and manufacturer are appreciated. Markings on plastic handles do eventually wear off, and stamped or engraved information is nice to have. One star off for needing a death grip for tough situations. The Hazet Trinamic handles are of a similar plastic but the triangle profile provides a superior grip. Nonetheless, I like this Gedore driver.Edited... one star now as I did not receive the model shown. I received the new model with the rubber overmolding. This model does not have the one piece shaft and lacks any sort of engravings for model number. Quality is inferior, despite bag label still declaring "Made in Germany".
