My PI4 said to me "dude, I'm gonna get hot" just as I was putting him a case. So I got this heatsink & fan collection to help him stay cooler before he got upset. Bowing my head in shame, I had forgotten to purchase some in my haste to get another PI4 before the stocks ran out again.As the PI is not going to be burning cpu cycles continuously, I thought this set would do the trick. Everything you need is supplied, is simple to fit, and the diagram in the listing for the fan orientation makes life a little easier again. After fitting the heatsinks I connected the fan via 5v to run at full speed to see how quiet it really is. Well, I have to say it is indeed quiet. Of course if you are very close you can hear a faint whiring, but that is to be expected.I simulated a load using the `fio` utility and the temperature stayed below 40c, which I'll take.Overall very pleased with this. Probably not for the overclockers out there, but it suits my needs, might just suit yours too.Update:=======For the hell of it I used emby to software transcode a 1080p HEVC ACC 5.1 video to stream to view via a web browser. Using software transcoding hits the cpu hard, with each core in the high 90's pretty much the whole time. This is not a usual workload for me. The temperature reported by 'vcgencmd measure_temp' hovered around 65ºc. Thought this might be useful to some.
