No manual with the device in the package. The inner package was not sealed. Looks as the device was used (but purchased as new).

The directions does not say what the password is for this unit and I have an over limit alarm. I can't reset it the unit because I do not know what the pre-program password is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I like the product's easy to understand instructions and it appears to be good quality. I bought it in case there is a nuclear exchange. I have no way to test it, so I can't really tell anyone how well it detects radiation. All I can say is if it doesn't work, I won't be around to send it back.

I have a Geiger counter I built from kit. Cost me $60 back a few years ago. I came across this pen dosimeter while window shopping radiocode 120. Wow. It's based on the Russian SBM-20M Geiger Tube that's been around for a few years. Thin walled to be more sensitive to hard beta. Green light blinks on detected events. I'm getting about 16 green blinks per minute inside giving 0.11uSv/h. Outside It picked up on my 6 gram Uraninite crystal from 2 feet in 6 seconds, then at 1 foot in 3 more seconds - red blinky and Alarm is surprisingly loud - you would easily hear it in a car or outside with a bit of wind (got a 2.59uSv/h) . Played some yesterday, reset overnight, started 6am and ran all day today. 9 hours and has 2 of 3 bars. Tomorrow I'm going to strap it to my DJI drone in view of the camera and try "find" my rock. (you know you want one now - need a rock too). The tube is located behind the display so sensitive forward/left/right when clipped inside a pocket. It's accurate and quick as a SBM-20M tube can be. It didn't really notice a banana, 30 seconds on top a smoke detector got 0.92uSv/h. So how'd I do today? 9 hours 20 minutes, MAX: 2.59uSv/h, Dose: 0.81uSv (of my aliquant of 1000uSv/year), AVR: 0.09uSv/h.My intended use? I live 90 miles east of DC.This is truly a jewel for the price.THREE days later - Wow! Took it on a day trip to the beach. Who Knew - Atlantic beaches are slightly radioactive .63uSv. It ran 24 hours. It can be recharged in 35 minutes and without reset. my thoughts are a daily reset as the MAX is most important when out exploring.1 second press on the power and then 1 second press menu - removes the lock icon and adds menu items for adjusting alarm settings. I didn't adjust but wanted to know how. What do the alarms settings indicate? So I checked out "day tour of Chernobyl". Seems like a perfect fit. This unit sensitivity 0.08uSv - 999uSv24 hour total dose home 1.59uSvMy rock at 6" 2.59uSvControl room unit 3 13.5uSvOne day tour Chernobyl 100uSvThis dosimeter would be perfect for the task and the tour would probably be safe - like bungee jumping. For every day use the alarms settings are fine. End of the World - I'd bump the DOSE Alarm up to 3000 and reset daily.Don't put it in pant's pocket - safer in shirt pocket, neck of shirt. Squirrel, Labrador, and dosimeter don't mix.Overall, it's held up to outings, I can read it without glasses (+1.75) barely, I understand my range of exposure in a safe normal environment and will be my go to dosimeter. Really. Vs my old '70 vintage CD V-742. Absolutely.Final update - I am wrong re: SBM-20M tube. my bad.
