Zeer tevreden over deze sandalen, heb ze nu al een tijdje en lopen heerlijk zonder vervelende luchtjes al een paar jaar in bezit en nog als nieuw.

First of all, these aren't totally open, they're the kind of sandals which enclose the outside edge of the foot. That's both good and bad- it's a bit more protection if you're wearing them somewhere that needs a bit more protection, but it obviously leaves more areas to get sweaty in really hot weather.Like all sandals of these sort, they feel strange and uncomfortable at first, until you get the straps adjusted correctly. I always forget and am always a bit grumpy. The same happened here, but once I adjusted the ankle to be a bit more snug and left the toe end a bit looser, and got all the straps lying nice and flat, all fit issues went away. They seemed to fit relatively true to size- length was sensible and I didn't feel like they were painfully narrow or wide like boats.The construction of the sole and insole unit is very pleasant. There's a slight heel drop and some padding, as well as a fairly grippy aggressive sole, but not so aggressive that I worry about using them in paved areas. I can't comment on long-term durability as I've only had them a week or so. If you're looking for a barefoot feel, however, look elsewhere.I can't claim that the ventilation magically improves foot comfort, but so far it hasn't caused me a problem.In summary, these seem to be well-made and practical sandals. They're not as light or airy as the very minimal Ecco Biome sandals that they're replacing (reluctantly, after years of use), but they feel comfortable and sturd and don't look too obviously dorky. The price from Amazon compared very favourably with the manufacturer's site, too- so that's nice.

Very heavy
