This is a brilliant drum key. I have used it regularly on my new drum kit and it does a great job.Highly recommended.

Pros: Heavy duty and size provides great torque when using. Also extra handy that it fits perfectly in the vent hole on the top of my bass drum so I never misplace it. Cons: If you want to use this in an application where the tension rods are recessed (for example Roland mesh head snares and toms), you will find the heavy duty design makes it a little too large to fit into the recessed lug nuts.

Length of the shaft is nice, gets over the top of the snare wire guards on dynasty drums and down into the pedal brake adjustment on Ludwig timpani. Wings are a bit thin and a bit short. Could be flatter and longer to make it more comfortable to achieve high tensions. For a “high tension” key it’s only slightly easier to turn than a normal drum key. But for the price, I’ll take it.

I realize my review isn't suited or targeted towards actual drum sets. Take it for what it is. I can't vouch for anything else.Don't let the picture and it's T shape fool you; this thing is actually rather large. I bought mine as a replacement for my Rock Band Ion Drum Rocker kit because I lost the torque it came with. This was the most affordable choice, unfortunately. It DOES WORK for the purpose, but it's horribly inconvenient for the tight squeezes needed to assemble the Rock Band pro drum kit.Also, the picture makes it look like the horizontal part of the T is adjustable and slides back/forth to fit your needs, but it's actually glued and won't move. The original Drum Rocker torque did slide, which made tight spots easier to reach. Just keep that in mind.Overall, it's still worth the cheap price considering how difficult it is to find these things at a decent price.

Great strength and balance! I like the extra clearance from the rim of the drum when using! Just the right size, would buy another in a heartbeat!
