I have no doubts in the quality of this item as my dad owns the 15L x-stream of which he uses on his triumph mounted using one of the Givi mounts. I intended to borrow the tank bag for a trip, so after some fruitless research on the compatibility with my bike I took a punt and purchased this tank mount. I own a first gen z1000 (03-05) and I can confirm it is not compatible with this bike. The fuel cap will not open with it mounted. No odds to me as I took a gamble on it, hopefully this review may help others who also own slightly older Kawasaki’s not to make the same error!
