These silicone finger protectors were my answer to prayer! I have a Rheumatoid Arthritis nodule on my index finger that keeps getting knocked around until it developed an ulcer. I tried several different finger cots but they were easy to get wet and/or dirty. These are soft, stretchable and comfortable. They pad the area that's painful. I would suggest that if there is an open wound, you wrap it with a bandaid first, then protect it from dirt and moisture with the silicone protectors. I like these well enough that they will be going into my subscriptions.

This set comes with three different types of silicone finger protectors. There are eight tubes that are about 2" long, four tubes that are about 3/4" long, and eight closed end tubes that are about 1 3/4" long. Several days ago, I accidentally cut one of my fingers while using a kitchen knife. While I did put a bandage on it, washing my hands caused the bandage to get wet and fall off. What I tried with these finger protectors was putting on a bandage and then covering the finger with one of these closed end sleeves. While the sleeve did not keep the bandage completely dry, what I found helped me was that after washing my hands, I could take off the sleeve, let the bandage dry, and the put the sleeve back on. After two days, I took off the sleeve and the bandage and found that my cut had closed up very nicely. Obviously, I am sure whether this procedure would work for other cuts that are in different locations. In addition, I would recommend being careful when washing your hands to help keep as much water off the bandage as possible. However, this product certainly helped close up my cut faster than I have experienced with similar cuts that I treated with a bandage alone.
