Best suited for interviews/presentation rather than trying to capture the atmosphere of an event. Sound isn't too bad so careful placement of the mic for best results. I plugged it into my phone and it works fine but no monitoring of the sound when recording videos. Same with audio recording, maybe a dedicated app would overcome that problem. Plugged it into the back of a portable speaker via the jack plug and was impressed. Not bad all.General opinion is that it does what it sets out to do and for the money, not too bad. If you are serious about your sound then you're better off with a better mic but for a general 'get-out-of-jail' card, it'll do just nicely.
