It's very obviously a kids toy rather than something designed specifically for birds, but it still does the job. Had to chuck out the plastic fruit, but kept the side basket for treats. This takes regular batteries and is easy to set up. The water flow is good - not too hard - and recycles easily. Make sure you drain it properly and take out the spout to clean because water does tend to get a little trapped that end when you empty it. It makes quite a noise when the motor goes, my budgie was very wary at first, but once he got used to it he absolutely loved ducking in and out and having his bath. He is used to a regular bowl so he's very happy to get under a stream of water as well. He gets excited when he sees it now, so mission accomplished. I would say, however, this is suitable for a budgie or cockatiel, and a conure or caique could get in but nothing bigger. Really bugs me when the photos for bird items show the thing with a photoshopped macaw. A macaw would smash this to pieces.
