in the intro gogen says this book was intended to be able to be used ...to learn...without attending classes ...if desiredand yes ...its that clearits as good as taekwondo book i have by richard chun....that is also that clear...and helpfulgogens book...is logical, systematic, simple, easy to grasp/understand/followand the diagrams/pictures...all have arrows to show movement of limbs....between difrent images showing the steps /flow of movement.........which is an awsome idea i wish more martial arts books would copyin the techniques section ....the blocks ,punches,strikes all include most possible techniques....not much is left out i imagine....coming from a taekwondo background....i wasnt that impressed with the kicking sectiion...but thats understandable...still much is coveredthis book is seriously top notch...i love it

Sehr gute und verständliche Darstellung des Goju Ryu mit Katas, Ständen und weiteren Hintergrund Erklärungen.Allerdings auf englisch, aber reich bebildert. Zeichnungen sind zum Teil schlecht reinkopiert.Gesamteindruck sehr hilfreich.

Shihan Yamaguchis book really covers to core aspect of goju ryu Karate do in a splendid fashion. The kihon waza is clearly outlined and the assessment of katas is very intriguing and educational. Although not all of the kata is illustrated this book is an indefinite guide to any dedicated Goju-Ryu karateka.
