Graded Classical Repertoire for Ukulele : Volume 2: For Low G Ukulele

This is the 2nd volume I’ve purchased. Really clear layout of the music on the page makes for enjoyable playing. The grading is realistic and fosters steady progress. The arrangements of the pieces are creative and satisfying to play.

This book is amazing. The progressive difficulty builds repertoire in a very solid manner. Excellent material, excellent instruction.

Hi all,First of all, I'm a professional musician (saxophone/clarinet) so I do know how to review music repertoire.I've been a student of Jeff Peterson's Ukulele Corner for several years and through his teaching and videos I've learned a lot of how to play the ukulele. Among other teachers i.e. Matt Stead.I've worked my way through Volume 1 and other technique books by Jeff. I've been going through Volume 2 and putting stickers on the selections that I love the most. (They are all good by the way!) Well, I liked so many that I ran out of stickers to mark the pages!I was at the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain this summer and got to see Jeff and other great artists perform. Jeff is a consummate professional and his playing on ukulele (and guitar) Is phenomenal.This Volume 2 starts with very basic Grade 1 music and then progresses to Grade 8. I have many (and I do mean many) ukulele music books but I always gravitate back to Jeff's books and arrangements. Do yourself a favor if you love good classical ukulele music and buy Volume 2.

Jeff’s books are the absolute best instructional materials I have found. The Vol 1 Repertoire book is excellent as is the Sor studies book. The graded approach helps you stay challenged but not to the point of frustration. Suggested fingerings develop technique as you go without the tedium of just exercises.This Vol 2 book follows in that vein. An outstanding selection of repertoire from a mix of composers and eras (check the book preview for the Table of Contents.) In a time of YouTube distraction, Jeff’s books (and UCA) have been the absolute number one aid in my development. Highest recommendation!
