I recently purchased the Ravensberg GraviTrax extension catapult. From the first time I used it, it did not work as described in the instructions. Even with the elastic pulled tight the ball only traveled to the space next to it, not across an empty space to be caught more than two spaces away on an elevated platform from the catapult. Each of the elastic bands supplied with the catapult got stretched extremely quickly, only lasting for approximately four uses. There is a weakness where the plastic arm connects to the base of the catapult, which broke the day I got it.Overall I am very disappointed with this product. I saved my pocket money and was excited to receive it and felt massively let down and sad when it didn't work as described.

Don't get me wrong, we LOVE Gravitrax! So it's no surprise then, that when you're enjoying something so much, you want ALL the extras to go with it. It's not really until you actually start buying the extension sets though, that you realise just how little you get for your money.This catapult (or Katapult if you got the German box) is way over-packaged, which is probably with the intention of making you feel like you got something big for your money, despite there being just 7 tiny pieces of plastic (like something you'd get in a Kinder egg) 10 rubber bands (even though you're only supposed to get 3) and 4 extra silver balls (not the red one shown on the box picture either).The catapult is easily assembled and integrates nicely with the starter set just as you'd expect. However, the first thing you will come to realise is that the catapult action is simply not repeatable. In other words, the ball will land in a different spot every time you fling it, and no amount of adjustment or fine-tuning can seem to enable it to hit the same mark twice. It's fair to say that as the rubber bands get used they will lose some elasticity, but this thing can't repeat a shot from one to the next, let alone after the band has started to wear out.A solution is to land the ball in a funnel to give yourself a wider catchment area, but even then it can still randomly miss by a mile. Needless to say, the catapult brings much frustration with it, and frequently ruins an otherwise perfectly good run.
