Botanical name: Trigonella foenum graecum. The seeds are usually rhomboid shaped and have been equally utilized in cooking as well as for medication. Fenugreek seeds have a long history and been found in ancient Egypt in the tomb of Tutankhamun, and in ancient Iraq, dated to 4000 BC. In the 1st century A.D. the Romans flavoured wine with Fenugreek. It was also grown, at that time, in Palestine as a staple food.Fenugreek essential oil is acquired by steam distillation of the seeds. The oil is a yellowish colour. Its aroma is fragrant, but with bitter tones. Both Fenugreek seeds and leaves contain the molecule sotolone, which imparts the aroma of curry in high concentrations, and the aroma of maple syrup or caramel in lower concentrations.Chemical Analysis: Fenugreek contains: antioxidants, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids and certain vitamins. The most common alkaloid present is trigonelline, and coumarins, including cinnamic acid and scopoletin.The main uses are for: massage, hair restoration, weight loss and body shape improvement, lowering cholesterol, increasing sex drive, for acne and dandruff treatment, and as a general anti-oxidant. Some people believe it is a natural remedy for fevers and sore throats.How to use Fenugreek Oil: In burners, diffusers & vaporizers: Add 5 drops, diffuse and inhale to reduce stress and anxiety. For migraines: 2-3 drops on a handkerchief and inhale when needed. As natural libido: add 3 drops Fenugreek oil to diffusers. For digestive aid: use 2-3 drops in a steam inhalation. For coughs: 5 drops of Fenugreek oil with 1 tablespoon of almond oil, massage onto the chest, or use 2-3 drops Fenugreek oil in diffuser. It is best to dilute the oil 1:1 with a carrier oil before application.Various side effects, safe dosage, and toxicity issues have been raised by the scientific and medical communities. They advise Fenugreek oil shouldn’t be applied directly, undiluted, onto the skin, nor ingested through the mouth. It shouldn’t be taken by pregnant women. There are believed to be safety issues with the interaction of Fenugreek essential oil with other prescription medications, including some for diabetes. So, take care.

So far that I have used it I can say that it smooth and doesn't irritate my skin. I noticed a small difference in how smooth and healthy my hands and arms have been looking compared to before. I have tried it with other added oils to my hair regime as well and will give an update if I see any big difference.As far as now as would recommend it because I have seen a difference in my skin.
