The pieces are complex to the ear but simple in the fingerings.Max Eschig also translated the classic works of Villa Lobos another gift to the classical guitar and these works are pristine and note-for-note written in standard notation.On a closing, or different note… maybe even sour note: For those who question the late rock guitarist Randy Rhoads lifting or plagiarizing Etude No 6. For his “Diary of a Madman” intro… sorry, but he lifted Brouwer’s Etude 6, or borrowed from, to be kind. Imitation is, as they say, the highest form of flattery.Leo Brouwer is fascinating.

This book is a great purchase if you enjoy Brouwer. The pieces range in complexity, so the book can be used over many years of study. It opens well and sits on the stand nicely. The layout is easy to read and well notated. I was really pleased so discover all these essential pieces in one book.
