Gyokucho Razor Zag Flush Cutting Double Edge 125 (Japanse import)

I have no complaints about this saw. I have used both sides, and it cuts well. The flex is good, so you can cut flush. There are few if any scratched around where I cut. This being said, the unfinished handle, while functional, give it a bit of a feeling of a cheaply made product, but so far it does not seem to be.

片刃のものも売っていますが、こちらの方が刃幅があるのでぶれにくいです。アサリなしなので木製の直角定規に当てて切れば簡単に直角に切れて細工にはとても便利です。勿論ダボ切りにも。

Sembra un seghetto quasi innocente, per le sue dimensioni e la sua sottigliezza. In realtà è uno strumento micidiale, di grande accuratezza, e che va maneggiato con cura ed attenzione. Le seghe ‘Ryoba’, a doppia lama, hanno il potenziale per eseguire tagli assiali e controvena sulle superfici di profilati di legno sia massello, che combinato. Ma non tutte sono in grado di farlo efficacemente e senza insistere con la pressione da applicare sul manico in fase traente (quella che trincia il materiale). Questo seghetto ha il pregio di mantenersi molto sottile, ma senza piegarsi facilmente e dunque di affondare con facilità ed essere tirati senza troppo sforzo. Sia con la dentatura grezza (in controvena), che di rifinitura (in vena) i tagli sono impeccabili e non danno luogo a sbeccature di alcun tipo. Ovviamente il ciclo di vita dell’affilatura dipende dall’uso più o meno intensivo che si farà dell’arnese. Ma un hobbista che lo usi sporadicamente senza sostituirlo per tre, quattro anni, se l’è già ripagato per i risultati che è in grado di ottenerne. La lama non arrugginisce facilmente, ma va ovviamente ripulita di tanto in tanto con alcol isopropilico (acetone, acquaragia o diluente nitro a mio parere sono troppo aggressivi) e lubrificata con olio di vaselina. A questo punto la lama può durare anche decenni

I went on a chair-making course a few months ago, and was impressed with their Japanese saws for cutting the tops of the legs flush with the seat. But they’re not very cheap - around £40-50 for their ones. But I’m just a hobby maker at the moment, so was looking for something a bit less pricey. Would it be the same quality, however...?Well, no, the handle of this saw is not as pretty, traditional-looking, or comfortable as those ones. But it’s still comfortable enough, and is just slightly smaller than those, perhaps making it easier to use for those with smaller hands.And the blade is exactly what I was after - flexible and super-sharp, cutting through my wood in no time, and with very little effort.It comes in a simple-but-sturdy plastic sleeve, which, while not a classy presentation box, is perfectly fine for storing in safely in between uses.Highly recommended for the money.

Die Säge kam nicht schön, aber sicher verpackt in einem einfach zu öffnenden Plastikblister an.Das Blatt ist sehr fein, die Zähne nicht ausgestellt. Die Zahnung ist auf der einen Seite leicht gröber, als auf der anderen.Es lässt sich super damit arbeiten, was in diesem Fall heißt, dass man Holzelemente bündig mit einer anderen Holzfläche absägen kann, ohne die Fläche zu zerkratzen.
