I am so pleased that Mark Davis wrote a second Jazz Piano Method Book. Finishing book one left me so excited to continue my journey with learning jazz piano, and I am confident that I am in good hands with this new tome.Flipping through the table of contents and perusing the pages I can tell that the book is laid out like book one. This makes sense that it would follow a similar style, but I wanted to mention it here because I find the layout to be so helpful and easy to digest. It is broken up in a way that even advanced theoretical concepts can be understood without the headache that accompanies the more dense style common in other jazz piano books.I feel that the more advanced harmonic and melodic concepts which this book delves into are really going to take my playing to the next level. If you are looking for an easy to digest method book to continue in your jazz studies look no further. If you are new to jazz piano entirely I would suggest Jazz Piano Method Book 1 by Mark Davis - once you have finished that book I am sure you will be excited to dive into this book.

Concepts and techniques are clearly explained, and each and every one of them is demonstrated on web-accessible audio tracks. Most importantly, Mark Davis offers extremely useful exercises and practice suggestions. Dedicated pianists who follow Mark Davis's method and put in the requisite time and effort will almost certainly be delighted by the new ideas and improvisational skills that they will acquire—and that they will continue to develop for as long as they continue to practice, listen, and play.
