The brim is about the length of a baseball cap and goes three quarters around the head, so it's quite wide and definitely keeps a child's eyes shaded. The integrated neck protector is good, with no gaps, but does have mesh on the inside to allow air circulation. The hood is partly made of mesh as well and has an adjustable elastic so it can be fitted properly. It is large enough to fit my head quite comfortably, yet can be adjusted to fit my 17 month old.The only thing I don't like about it (aside from the colour which I had no choice in at the time) is that it is made entirely of synthetic material which is generally not breathable, so it will be very hot to wear unfortunately. If it had been made of cotton, as others are, I would have given this top marks.

This is a good sun hat for kids. Although the fabric is polyester, which we don't usually associate with breathability and coolness, it is nice and lightweight with the crown having mesh for ventilation. It has a nice large peak and neck flap and adjustable strap. It folds up neatly taking up very little space. Overall it is excellent quality and value for money. Happy to recommend.
