I tested this device with my multimeter before using it for on any sensitive electronics. I was aiming to use it with the 15 volt output for charging drone batteries. Unfortunately it does not seem to be capable of outputting more than 12.2 volts. Will update review if I get more info from the manufacturer or otherwise get it working, though my Anker 737 power bank should be happily outputting 15 and 20 volts.

This cable works with PD Power Delivery, and will negotiate with a suitable USB charger to supply a higher than standard voltage & current. With no PD handshake, the standard charge of USB is 5V.So, if a device isn't compatible with PD then it will be given 5V.The DIP switches on the USB plug determine the requested higher voltage.1st Pin Up - Request 9V.2nd Pin Up - Request 12V.3rd Pin Up - Request 15V.4th Pin Up - Request 20V.Assuming the charger is capable of it, it can supply up to 5A, so the maximum power is up to 5x20 = 100WMy tests showed that the cable supplied the voltages above pretty much spot on. See photos with my multimeter.I was able to successfully power a small air pump which needs 12V 2A, and I didn't have to get the usual power adaptor out of the box. It all worked perfectly. It's worth noting that if a USB PD charger is only capable of 12V (and no higher), then even if the device is requesting 20V, the charger will still only supply 12V.It's worth also noting that the central pin is the positive and the outer sleeve is negative - this is almost always the standard setup, but it is worth checking what your device needs. Finally it's worth noting that if your device needs 12V and you have the DIP switches set up to supply 20V, then you could end up burning out your device - so care is needed. You should know what you are doing !!However, for me, the convenience of this is great, as I can supply a range of voltages without having to carry a handful of big charging plugs.

The USB Adjustable PD adapter arrived in perfect condition and worked as expected as soon as I plugged it in. The included USB C to USB A converter is also a nice to have in case you need it. It didn’t include any paperwork so I had to look at the Amazon listing to adjust the dip switch to get the various voltages to trigger. I was able to run a small lamp on a small inverter using a power bank. I did not notice any problems while using this adapter, it didn’t even warm up during use. It’s important to stay within the limits of your source USB PD device. Overall an amazing little adapter 5/5 Excellent Value.
