Hawke Endurance Ed Monoculair

This is a review of the Hawke Endurance ED 8x25 monocular, in comparison with a Swarovski 8x20 compact binocular, and an Eden HD 8x42 monocular (June 2020). I own all three of these.Pocketability is excellent. Clearly fits in the category "always with you". I think this should be the main reason to buy it (see photo comparison).Build quality: feels good, but I have not put it to the test. Rubber housing feels nice; ergonomically, the focus ring is a bit close to the eye but is ok.Optics:I wear glasses and this limits the field of view on the Hawke. Sharpness and brightness are noticably less than the Eden (brightest of all) and Swarovski (ultimate sharpness and color). Using the Hawke without your glasses will give you a better field of view, but I don't see myself doing this because then I need to fiddle around with glasses in the field. I want to be able to take the monocular out of my pocket to quickly spot something.Price/quality ratio: with approx. 70 euros paid, I think it is good value for money.My recommendation:- I would buy the Hawke if you need true pocketability and are willing to sacrifice some optical quality. For the price you get a decent monoculair that you will always have with you, no need to carry a bag.- I would buy the Eden 8x42mm monocular if you want bright sharp images, large eye relief and exit pupil (very comfortable while wearing glasses) and are willing to sacrifice a bit of pocketability. The Eden is a bit clunky in your jacket pocket, but having seen the optical quality, and its ease of use, I personally have re-assessed my priorities and no longer want to go back to a smaller monocular and instead will accept the compactness compromise. Price/quality ratio also very good.- I would buy the Swarovski compact binocular if you want ultimate sharpness/color, and comfort for glass wearers. It is not ready as quickly as a monocuar as you need to adjust inter eye distance each time before focusing. Pocketability is better than the Eden 8x42, but less than the Hawke. Expensive, but you'll buy it for life.Overall verdict: Very pocketable, decent optics, less suitable for glass wearers, good price/quality ratio.

Gutes Monokular, prima Optik und schön klein, lässt in den EDC Bag, wofür es auch gekauft wurde . Dieses Ding ist nicht für Profis oder Sternengucker gedacht, sondern als immer dabei "Fernsehmöglichkeit". Die Vergrößerung ist ausreichend , um unterwegs am Strand mal nach Schiffen zu gucken, Vogelbeobachtung ist bauartbedingt schon schwieriger, man braucht eine sehr ruhige Hand, es ist etwas schwieriger im Umgang als ein normales Fernglas.positiv ist auch Die Wasser- und Staubdichtigkeit, da es ja wie gesagt für unterwegs gedacht ist und man nicht gleich einen Totalschaden erleidet, wenn es mal herunterfällt oder nass wird.

Das hätte ich nicht gedacht. Ich bin ein ehr vorsichtiger Typ und wollte wirklich ein super Monokultur haben, welches mich in der Ausstattung und im Preis anspricht. Nach langen hin u. her habe ich mich dann für das "Hawke Monokular Endurance ED 10x42 Mono" entschieden. Und ich habe nichts falsch gemacht! Selbst meine ehr noch kritischere Frau hat mir zu diesem Gerät geraten. Festbrennweite, 10 -fache Vergrößerung, welche man auf Grund der sonst auch angenehmen Haptik, stabil und ruhig halten kann, zeichnen diese Optik von Hawke aus. Mit einem Gewicht (ohne Okularabdeckung) von unter 300gr. ermüdungsfrei zu tragen, besticht dieses Monokultur durch eine brillante Sicht, durch faszinierende Lichtstärke und sehr gute Schärfe. Wir freuen uns schon auf unsere Wanderungen etc, und wissen einen neuen sehr guten Bergleiter an unserer Seite.Nicht vergessen möchte ichzu erwähnen, dass die Einhandbedinung wunderbar funktioniert.Schade finde ich lediglich, dass die Okularabdeckung nicht am Gerät fixiert ist, die Vorbereitung hierzu ist jedenfalls vorhanden. Entweder Hawke bessert hier noch nach, oder ich muss sehen welche Improvisationsmöglichkeiten sich bieten. Trotzdem eine volle 5 Punkte-Bewertung, wenn es ein 5 + gäbe, dann gern auch diese Punktzahl. Liebe Firma Hawke: hier wurde alles richtig gemacht. Danke sagt ein zufriedener und glücklicher Kunde! Preis-Leistung absolut stimmig.

ENDURANCE ED 10x42A pesar del embalaje tan malo y la falta de precintos, decido comprobar si todo está correcto para decidir si devuelvo el artículo. Está en perfecto estado y con todos sus componentes y al probarlo me encuentro realmente cómodo en todos los sentidos. Es bastante ergonómico, robusto pero compacto, con buenas prestaciones ópticas, sin aberraciones, las tapas correctas y la funda algo grande pero útil.En lo "negativo" correa algo endeble, el orificio de conexión al trípode queda muy cerca del enganche del cordón y puede interferir en algún caso, en el mío lo soluciono con un adaptador de prismáticos que se puede ver en las fotos... En general contento con la compra..

This thing has some nice glass in it. All the colors look very true. Nothing looks washed out or over bloomed with chromatic aberration. Light transition is good for a 25mm. Rain, heavy snow, dawn, dusk, it just performs well. Overall I’d say it’s well worth the $100 if you’re looking for a step above average monoculars.
