First time I’ve bought a cutting wire, so bear that in mind as review context…The wire comes on a reel which has a strong broad rubber band to keep the wire tidy. A nice idea.I wanted this to try to remove a ceramic towel ring glued on to tiles (I’ll have words if I ever meet the builder who thought that was a good idea!). Wasn’t sure if it would be thin enough (I already had one of those camping wire saws which isn’t). But the wire is very thin as described and useful even where there was barely room to get a Stanley blade in.I’ve only had a quick go with it so far as I need to buy or make some handles (it would be great if this were bundled with some). I’ve not managed to cut all the way through the glue/mastic or whatever it is they used, but this wire does cut (it’s cut some of the ceramic of the towel holder itself), so I think I’ll get there eventually.Was pulling pretty hard and no sign of the wire breaking. In fact, cutting a length off with my small wire cutters was very much harder than cutting normal cable (unsurprisingly, but reassuringly). Unlike fish line or piano wire which I’ve seen suggested for such jobs, this wire has a serrated surface so will be much more effective at cutting than those.Recommended, but get or make some handles as it’s going to be very difficult to use otherwise (even with tough gloves). I’m hoping some offcuts or dowels with screws inserted will work. Will update review if I come up with anything worth sharing.
