I mounted this on a 2001 HD Wide Glide. Took some modifications to the brackets and some zip ties to get it to fit up., but turned out to look better than I expected. I added a HD badge to it. Overall it was worth the $ but it took me a couple of hours to get the hardware modified and mounted. I feel it gives some protection in this area from road grime and rocks maybe.

The product doesn't fit a 2015 breakout as is , the voltage regulator is in the way , I’m going to modify the chin fairing so the v reg sticks out through it ….. not sure if that will look good or not but be warned , if you are hoping it will fit your big tank breakout , it won’t
