a good machine but I wish it could take a standard sd card as well as the micro card, my computer won't transfer all my audiobooks on to card so I need to do it manually which will take months to do. if it does take normal SD card then I would gladly keep it, Neil BellHere is an update, Hurray, I have finally cracked it, I can now copy all my home made audio recordings on to Micro SD card using the Stratus 12 Daisy player which I recently purchased, this reduces the the recording time hugely as I can copy them in no time at all. This will save me months of recording time. Now the problem is how to copy all my Audible stuff from my Audible SD card which is not activated as they have done away whith the Audible Manager, a rediculous thing to do as it was easy to do and simple to operate unlike this Audible sync which is out-and-out rubbish as the dam thing doesn't work on my computer, why couldn't they leave things alone. I'll probably need to record them manually, trust Audible to be awkward, Many thanks, by the way I will keep the machine now, third time lucky.

Purchased for my partially sighted mother-in-law and at first glance seemed decent quality build and sound. It's perfect for partially sighted and/or elderly. However, the micro SD card did not work which wasn't a big issue, as I had a spare. The main issue is that when downloading audio books they do not play back in order, despite being in order on the download. The instructions do not give any guidance relating to this issue but there is a statement inviting customers to contact the suppliers with any problems. I did this but did not receive any response, so It was returned.Great for music playback but no good for audio books.

This is a great idea, if a little expensive.I've gone with four stars, but it was very nearly three, but four—if only because an exact like-for-like product with that big simple on-off button is unknown to me.Previously on Vine, I've had the opportunity to review a number of modern-era "boom boxes". Rather than having a CD or cassette deck, these invariably have Bluetooth and often an SD/TF card and auxiliary input socket.These vary in price from small compact models in 20 pounds sort of range right up to £50 or £60 For something around this size.This box is obviously targeted at the "seniors" market, although some of those older users will have had great big boom boxes back in the day. What this unit does not have, however, is any of the bright flashing lights of the modern versions, which may or may not be a bad thing, nor I can see any resistance to water for outside use or spills, etc., mentioned in the description. And neither does it utilise Bluetooth.So when I'm comparing this to these other products, I'm looking at a price point (£109.98 at the time of writing) for what is, in effect, simply an active speaker that uses a memory card to playback audio or a standard 3.5mm audio jack in.For the intended use, which is a very simple player that can be activated by that single on-off switch, that lack of Bluetooth is an understandable choice because it makes it easy to use.Equally; it is worth saying that those users who require such a simple device probably won't have the skill set to load the music or audiobooks etc., to the memory card. Once loaded with tracks, it is good to go.I like the concept, and I like the design. I just feel that the current asking price it's probably too high given the alternatives; however, if you are looking for a device that simply works with a single big switch, that's easy to see and easy to use, and for certain users, this is a must, then this is a clever solution—at a price.
