The pliers work perfectly and it’s heavy duty that’s for sure, it came in a box with all the grommets in different baggies and i preferred my stuff well organized i transferred them to the plano case model 3500 and it is perfect for this use.

I've never had a snap installer tool, so I don't have much to compare this to. I found this to work very easily, although the instructions are a little vague. There is a link to a short video that explains it a little better. After you use it once, you'll probably never need to look at the instructions again.I installed some snaps to replace worn-out Velcro on a raincoat hood storage flap and front pockets. I'm very happy with the result. The snaps are medium strength and just right for this application.My only small problem with my tool was that one of the little magnets embedded in the dyes kept falling out (remaining affixed to the tool). I put a very small drop of super glue in the magnet hole and reinserted the magnet, and all is better. I did not knock off any stars for this minor problem.

Just got to use this today to add some snaps to my boat cover where it the tool worked excellent and was easy to adjust. I was concerned the 3mm needed to fasten them mentioned in the description would be problematic but it wasn’t at all. The 15mm size was compatible with the existing snaps. The only downside is that these “heavy duty” snaps are NOT heavy duty as I noticed at least one after having been snapped in starting to warp. Nonetheless I’m satisfied with the quality and ease of use and will purchase more snaps for replacement should these ones cease functioning correctly over time.

This tool is made of a soft metal and can bend the handle if too much pressure is applied as mine did, see pictures. Update, after my original review, the company reached out to me and replaced the tool for me. Excellent customer service. I was able to finish my project with the new tool. I would highly recommend this tool for basic applications. However, for snaps that require a heavier application such as boat tarps and window sunscreens that use a thicker material, I recommend using a hammer and snap setting punch tool or commercial grade snap tool.
