I love that this is a one cup, 120ml teapot. I put a 7or8 gram tea ball or mini brix, or fill the thing with leaves, and especially with white tea. Shou mei is definitely better in this thing than silver needle. I then fill it about 10-50 times while I'm working. It's fantastic. Also, a little tip for those that are afraid of breaking the lid while stored, put the little tea towel buched up in the cup part, then put it all together, band it, slap it in the carrying case, and it won't go anywhere. Heat retention matters not. No more harder to handle than a yixing gaiwan

This is an excellent little easy gaiwan for a great price.The outer glaze is a little on the rough side, which gives me an added sense of security - it's not going to slip out of my hands while I'm pouring.The size is perfect for 7 gram dragon pearls. Note, this is a TINY teapot. I bought it because it's the smallest one I could find on Amazon. For Gong Fu the pot should be completely filled with tea leaves.The clay of this pot has excellent heat retention, so I can really enjoy each cup of tea and not worry that my next one won't be brewed hot enough. If your steeps are coming out a little too hot to drink, it can help to underfill the teapot by a few ml and leave some cooled-off tea in the teacup when you pour.The pot is glazed on the inside, so it can be used for many types of tea without holding a smell from previous tea sessions (lapsang, I'm lookin' at you).The handles do get hot with longer steep times but I fixed that little issue by wrapping them with hemp cord. Wrapped handles really make this a perfect teapot!All in all it's a wonderful product, I'm very happy with my purchase and I just wish I had bought one sooner.

I've used this for well over a year and greatly enjoy it. The raised part for pulling off the lid also nicely presses against your palm if you pour one handed.

Today was my first time using this little guy and I loved it! I did what someone else recommended and kept the foam packaging and rubber band for traveling which worked well. If you don’t do that it will probably chip or break. Other than that, it’s a beautiful gaiwan tea set that does its job well!

I love this little pot. I have a few other vessels including a gaiwan and a different style gongfu pot. This style is often referred to as an “easy gaiwan” as you brew in it similar to a gaiwan, but it has a pour spout and built in strainer.I took it to work on a lark, but ended up loving it there. It is compact enough to sit right on my desk without taking up much space, and it works well.I brew oolong in it without an additional strainer. You will get some dust in your cup doing this, but the built in strainer is enough to keep the largest offenders out of your cup.It has a white inside, which I like, as it allows me to appreciate the color of the tea as I drink, and to check my brew (I often don’t time when at work, and almost never measure out the tea).All in all, an awesome little pot if you’re brewing oolong for one. Would probably work just fine for other teas as well.
