I'm really happy with this sprouting seed kit. It comes with everything you need plus a stand and tray to pop it on. The instructions are very easy to follow and there's also a video tutorial on the listing. After 3 days mine are starting to sprout. It's really good value for money and would make a fab presant. I find myself ridiculously excited to try this out. A big like a big kid! It looks like a really fun idea (and would be great to use with real kids!)I like bean sprouts, in salads or stir fries, etc. but my wife did not. I look at the big bags of bean sprouts in the supermarket and know that we’d not get through them all before half go off, so it seems a waste. But the idea of growing a liked potful at a time seems a great solution.I have the pack with two growing jars, I believe you can buy just one, if you prefer. It is really well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, with foam rubber inserts to protect the glass contents.Included are two glass Mason jars, with a screw lid and a top to the lid that is a metal mesh to allow water to pour in and out. Each jar comes with a small stand (presumably mainly to catch any water that might drip out), a stand made of metal wide with a plastic casing (to hold the jar upside down at an angle) and a black neoprene cover bag to keep the light out. It all seems nicely made. There’s also a plastic and sponge cleaning tool plus what I assume area a couple of spare screws for the stand, which can fold up flat, when not use, or unfold to hold the jar.The listing says that there isn’t an instructions booklet included but that they will add one in future. Mine actually does have a clear, illustrated instructions booklet in the, so I guess they did act in they intention. But even if there weren’t, the listing page has good instructions on it too.The pack does not come with and seeds, but it was easy enough to find a pack of mung bean seeds at the local garden centre did £3.49 (you only use a tablespoon or so each time, so this pack will last a while.)So I have just started my first attempt at growing some bean sprouts. If it’s a success, I’ll add a photo of my first ‘crop’ in 5 or 6 days time.

I ordered this kit as I was intrigued to see how it worked. It comes with two mason jars with perforated lids, jar covers and two stands to rest them on. I haven't grown cress or bean sprouts for many years - not since I was young - and in those days there were no such sophisticated systems. I am quite excited to see how well it works! The kit is easy to set up, and there are simple instructions on the product page and in a small leaflet inside the box. I have sown some cress seeds in one of the jars, and am eagerly awaiting the results of my experiment!This kit would be great for youngsters to get them into growing things, as the results should be visible after just 3 or 4 days. For what you get in the kit, I would say it is good value for money - you get a lot for your money, but do bear in mind that the kit does not include the seeds.Overall, an intriguing kit that would make a great activity for children - and adults too - and is very reasonably priced.
