Pas de soucis, fonctionne bien

The first thing that strikes me is the build quality. This collar is sturdy and secure, hugging the lens like a protective shield. No more worries-my precious Sigma is locked in tight, ready to handle the rigours of telephoto adventures. The inclusion of a built-in Arca type quick release allows for swift and tool-free mounting and dismounting of the lens from the tripod. The collar boasts a well-designed grip, making it comfortable to hold and operate even for extended periods. No more hand cramps or fatigue-I can focus on composition and framing, not fighting my equipment. This collar becomes an extension of my hand, letting me wield the 100-400 with confidence and control. But the rotation mechanism can be a bit stiff, especially when compared to some smoother competitors.

L’articolo arriva confezionato in una semplice scatola di cartone, ben imballato in un doppio strato di nylon e pluriball e con una chiave a brugola per l’eventuale smontaggio/serraggio della basetta.Si tratta di un articolo realizzato interamente in metallo, preciso nelle forme, ma dal peso importante che andrà a sommarsi a quello non certo indifferente dell’obiettivo Sigma 100-400 f5-6.3 DG DN.La basetta, di dimensioni generose, ha il duplice vantaggio di essere realizzata in pressofusione con lo standard Arca-Swiss (lo standard di riferimento per tutti gli attacchi da cavalletto) e di fungere da solida presa per la mano consentendo un migliore utilizzo a mano libera dell’ingombrante ottica Sigma (vedi foto). Le numerose filettature consentono comunque l’eventuale aggancio di un supporto cavalletto più datato, come ad esempio un vecchio attacco Manfrotto.La staffa si aggancia correttamente e in maniera molto precisa all’ottica per la quale è studiata ed il blocco avviene per mezzo di una vite di serraggio di dimensioni generose. Ho trovato però un notevole resistenza nel ruotare la staffa anche con la vite molto allentata, inoltre la rotazione avviene solamente in senso orario, non è stranamente possibile ruotare la staffa in senso opposto pur mancando impedimenti meccanici appositamente predisposti.Purtroppo, come avviene anche per la staffa Sigma originale, non è presente un riferimento meccanico a click del punto zero che indichi la posizione assiale, è infatti presente solamente un riferimento visivo realizzato tramite un crocino stampato sulla staffa.Il prezzo pari ad una frazione della staffa Sigma originale rende in ogni caso questo prodotto un best buy per chi possiede quest’ottica.Tengo comunque a precisare (e consiglio pertanto anche al produttore di aggiornare la descrizione) che la staffa è perfettamente compatibile anche con la stessa ottica ad innesto Fuji X-Mount non riportato in descrizione e nella quale erano presenti solamente gli innesti Sony E-Mount e L-Mount .

This mounting ring is made of solid metal but weights at only about 5.8oz that does not add too much weight to the lens.The ring came with a hex wrench but with no instruction sheet. One has to use the pictures on the Amazon product page as guide.Mounting the ring to the lens is easy but one has to remove the rubber ring on the lens. Once the rubber ring is removed, it will expose a row of screws around the lens. The inner side of the ring has a slot on one side to mate with those screws and that made the ring can only be mounted on the lens in one direction.One problem I have encountered is the bottom plate on the ring was assembled in the reverse direction! This may also be the reason some reviewer complained it does not fit the lens. It seems this ring is made to accommodate different lenses with most of them with the screw row at the opposite side and instead of making the ring right with this lens, they choose to includes a hex wrench for the user to change the plate direction instead!
