Capacitive sensor worked nicely, I used it for controlling the speed of the bottom plate of a hydraulic press. It has a good length of wire, the three leads are twisted and tinned. It has threads - but I'm unsure how to use it. It has these washers with teeth - which is new to me. So something new for me to learn. Very, nice, would recommend!

I am using this as an alarm contact for a metal rolling shutter door. I find it better than magnetic sensors because there is no need to install anything on the object to be sensed - you only need one sensor and that's it!Note that this is the "shielded" type. It has a shorter sensing distance but in return, you get a directional measurement that is less affected by its immediate environment, which is what I needed.Note carefully the voltage, and trigger type (NO/NC and NPN/PNP). There are many variations of this product, this one is NPN (pulls signal to ground), NO (leaves the output floating when nothing is detected and pulls it to ground when something is), and 10-30V DC 3-wire (2 power, 1 signal)Overall a great product, works very well. I like the integrated LED which is great for ensuring it works as expected, at a glance.
