Hikvision CCTV HD 4K 5MP Nachtzicht Outdoor DVR Home Security System Kit (Wit) (4 TB (4000GB)

Bought this system to replace my old 10 year + one. Wow how things have moved on, the image quality is superb, on my old system I could see people and cars going past but on this one I can clearly see peoples faces and car registration numbers no problem. Very pleased with the night images as well, still crystal clear and will still produce an image in total darkness, if there is a little bit of light from a nearby outside light then the images are very good indeed, again way better than my older system. Nice wide angle view from the 2.8mm camera lenses and even wider still if you go in to the menu settings on each camera and change the resolution to 5mp (default is 4mp)No proper instruction manual but after 15 mins going thru all the onscreen menus it all seemed easy enough to set up how you want it. I plugged an ethernet cable from my router in to the main box and downloaded the Hilook app to my phone, followed the onscreen instructions and it found it automatically no problems and with a couple of minutes I could view all 4 cameras on my phone by simply tapping the app. I had a couple on installation queries and received prompt polite advice from Doris CCTV, very impressed and I note if you buy from them you also get a 3 year warranty which is very reassuring I think.Playback of recorded footage seems straightforward and unlike my old system you can view footage from all the cameras at once if required. Not sure yet how many days it records before overwriting, would imagine it must be at least14-28 days with a 4tb hard drive (could be loads more ?), my old system did 28 days on a 1tb hard drive but the quality was much lower. I will wait & see if its adequate and if not I would imagine I can record in a lower quality to extend the time. Overall I am delighted with this system and it cost less than half the price of the one I bought 10 years ago !

Bought and installed August 2020. Purchase and delivery all quick and efficient. Running the cables was the most difficult part, hard work if doing it on your own, much easier with 2. Might be stating the obvious but if you are not confident on ladders don’t attempt installation yourself. Easy to fit cameras, and connect to cables, choose locations carefully and plan both location of cameras and how you are going to route your cables. Used self adhesive cable clips on UPVC areas and nailed cable clips for brick areas. Junction boxes (additional purchase only £2.00 x 4) came in useful to protect the connections between the short camera cable and run cables. Compact and neat DVR, great daytime images and easy to adjust cameras, night time images as you would expect no where near as sharp. Easy to install Hik connect (via QR code) on iPad and manage/access the system and cameras. You might want to consider a small monitor to view camera images but you are able to share access to the DVR & cameras for mobile phone using QR code. Overall, good, could have paid a lot more and got a lot less, good size hard drive at 4 TB. You will need to purchase TP Link or additional router if you want to access on line. I bought TP Link really easy to set up and provides online access for just over £30.

Thanks to Aamir I recieved my cctv cameras the following day. It was expedited as I'd just been burgled and although it wasn't going to prevent another burglary it definitely made me feel safer as soon as possible. Aamir has also been in contact to make sure I've got all I need and all is working. He also helped over WhatsApp with the screen set up.Thanks so much for a 5 star service.

After fitting cameras & running cables which had just enough length to get where I needed them to go I rigged up to a new AOC monitor I bought for system, easy to plug in & set although for some unknown reason even though I have connected to a LAN socket, cannot get it to show the right date, is a day behind & cannot figure out the software to change it unfortunately, only other issue I have is, it's got a very noisy hardest & is a bit like listening to a loud data dial up from the 80s, have put a soundproof mat underneath but very little difference, apart from that, all ok upto now.

We fitted these because of nightmare neighbours, we feel safe in our home for the first time in years. Peace of mind for a small price.
