This device allows you to measure your brake pads with the wheel still on, which you could only really do otherwise with something like a bit of wire or a drinking straw - this makes it much easier! It feels well-built and seems identical to other more expensive brands. It starts at 12mm then goes down in increments to 1mm with a traffic light colour coding (green, yellow, red) to give you and indication of when you need to replace your pads.
