Hella hefty, this thing’s a beast! Would’ve liked another O at the other end. Ultimately I had to return, to much weight for portability on my e-scooter.

I purchased two of these chains for securing my mountain bike to a cargo rack mounted to my vehicle hitch. I also purchased the Hiplok D1000 (not on amazon) in conjunction with these chains and their handy Z loks. After shopping around for bike locks of different types and brands, I decided to go with Hiplok’s top of the line, diamond rated by Sold Secure, apparatuses. The tag has the Sold Secure gold rating seal, because this chain is gold rated for motorcycles, but diamond for bicycles. I intend to take my bike(s) on vacation to trails and parks and felt this level of locking strength suitable for overnight travel. And I’d rather have the overkill/flexibility for local transport plus home use, rather than the other way around and using my old ≈$10 cable lock only. Looping the chain through itself is a convenient feature.I discovered, as pictured, if you take two 4mm hex wrenches to unfasten the sex bolt from the nylon sleeve on both ends, you can gain 4”-5” (12cm) in total length by exposing one additional link on both ends. I wish Hiplok would make the sleeve a few inches longer. I understand there’s more exposed metal potentially rubbing my bike, but I could just stuff a rag where needed.This chain is heavy and definitely not for commuting, unless your name is Mr. T! Currently (9/29/22) retails from the manufacturer for ≈$150. Considering buying a third chain as a chastity belt. No better ol’ fashioned pastime than being chaste I never say!
