This leather bound journal looks vintage and handmade. The leather is of medium thickness, supple enough to open and close easily. The compass etching on the leather is distinctive and, along with the charms on the leather, create a nautical theme. Although, the jewelry accessories that come with the journal suggest it is meant for a teen or for a romance or fantasy reader, the journal actually makes a wonderful gift for men, women or children.The interior paper is thick, easy to write on and is good for notes, sketching or doodling. It also has an aged look that matches the journal.As for the accessories, I don't quite understand how they relate to the journal. Although I liked the photo of the jade green necklace, the pieces look and feel very cheap. I just commandeered the journal for my own use and gave the jewelry and stickers to the kids for crafting. They are expendable.
