Firstly the case clearly isn't real leather nor handmade as is claimed on the packaging. Moving on it has a lovely leather-like feel and a high quality appearance. The finish is slightly dull and is soft to the touch which gives it an extremely high quality feel. It adds to the weight of the laptop but personally I quite like the robustness the combination exudes. The only minor point of potential early wear is the junction between the case and clips holding the case to the lower laptop but let's see. The case fits extremely snugly and I'm delighted with the fit and finish. As some others have commented, one of the greatest unexpected surprises is that the lower side of the case rises fractionally (not an overhang) to just cover the sharp lower edges of the laptop and lower lid opening recess which I'm absolutely delighted about, as I can no longer feel the edges at all as I type! One observation is that the slight added weight of the upper lid cover clearly has shifted the balance of a very precisely engineered hinge. The lid now cannot support itself unless pretty much halfway open which certainly won't be an issue for me. Protection-wise I'm very happy. Much more comfortable using the laptop out and about and am no longer at all concerned about dings and dents in everyday use. Will happily carry it in the laptop compartment of my rucksack (Fjallraven raven 28).Overall delighted! If you want a leather look/feel case which offers protection with a high quality feel I'd highly recommend it. If you want a real leather hand made case this is not it. If you're offended by false advertising keep walking! I'll post a 6month review to comment on longevity :)Overall delighted with the case,

Die Hülle ist äusserlich aus hochwertigem Leder verarbeitet, mit einer angenehmen, matten Oberfläche. Sie sitzt auf dem Mac perfekt und sieht wirklich schön aus, ist auch haptisch sehr angenehm. Der einzige vielleicht Nachteil ist, dass sie nicht ganz leicht ist - wenn der Mac leicht aufgeklappt bleiben sollte, aber wozu bräuchte man es,?, dann klappt das Display zu. Der Schutz ist sehr gut. Und das Design ist wie Mac selbst schön minimalistisch. Der hohe Preis ist gerechtfertigt. Empfehlung!

Hatte Ende 2021 die kleine Schwester für das Macbook Air meiner Frau gekauft und war sofort begeistert. Die Hülle passte perfekt und ist ein Handschmeichler und Augenschmaus. Leider gab es für das M1 2021 damals noch nicht das passende Modell und ich musste fast ein dreiviertel Jahr drauf warten. Nun ist sie da und ich bin froh, dass ich meine klassische Kunststoffhülle endlich los bin. Auch die icarer-Hülle für's M1 ließ sich einfach montieren, passt perfekt, sieht klasse aus und bietet einen wirklich guten Schutz. Kleiner Hinweis für Gamer, Musiker und Filmer: das Alugehäuse von Macbooks ist Bestandteil des Kühlkonzeptes (für CPU, Akku etc.), wer also lange, rechenintensive Operationen ausführt muss wissen, dass die Kühlung mit einer Hülle (egal, was für einer) ggf. nicht mehr optimal funktioniert und der Rechner zu heiß wird. Hülle für diese Zeit dann am besten abnehmen.
