The plastic connector piece works fine. But the wires provided are the worst possible quality. There just isn’t enough internal metal wiring underneath the external rubber sleeve. The voltages don’t transfer. Waste of money. Don’t buy.

Having soldered wires to my led strip, and suffering problems with them touching each other etc, and not being very sturdy, I thought I’d try these. They are really easy to install, and work well. I used wires that have connectors to the pins on the controller, so had a complete solder free installation. The connection is very strong and secure, alllowing the strip to be easily installed with no risk of disconnects or shorts.

I purchased these connectors for my 6 pin LED strip lighting and they worked like a champ!! I’m very proficient at soldering but I could not imagine stripping six 22 awg wire fluxing and tinning each one, doing the same for the six pads on the LED strip and soldering each one individually in tight spots….heck no! I gave these a shot and it helped out immensely!!!One side of the connector is for the wiring and there’s six barrels for the six wires. You stuff the wires in the barrel until they’re bottomed out and you push down and the teeth inside prices the wiring and two side notches on the connector body locks it down. For the LED side there are teeth that bite into the copper pads so it’s a little bit trickier.I started by cutting my LED strip copper pads down the middle as well as you can. Some of my cuts were off and I had a little bit of pad to work with but I still made it work. The key is to line it up on the pads as best as you can, put a little pressure on the top portion of the connector so that the teeth can make a slight imprint on the pads without clamping it shut. This allows you to adjust where your teeth fall on the pads without completely close the top half. Once you are satisfied with your position, clamp it down gently with some pliers and you should be good to go. I had 10 connectors and I did all 10 without any rework.I strung out 32 feet of LED with these connectors and I have no issues. Now if one accidentally closes on you (happened to me) or if you have to rework one, I used the small screwdriver included in the kit and pressed in the locking features on the side as best as I could and used the little screwdriver to pry the connector open. Highly recommend!
