I got the 12x12x4 inch box to display a model airplane my grandson made for me, the "Little Doc". It's a P-51 Mustang and has an interesting history if anyone wants to search it.I don't know why some people have a hard time peeling the protective film off the acrylic sheets for. The "kit" comes with a small round plastic disc used to scrape up a corner of the film, then grip a corner of the film tightly and peel it off. I had no problem, pictures will be included. Just don't scrape or peel the entire protective sheet with the disc... you would definitely have problems then, and run a risk of scratching the acrylic. Be sure to wear the included gloves, it saves from having to clean fingerprints and oils from the box afterwards.The protective film definitely gives the appearance that the box is a matte finish and not clear. I had to examine it closely and use the disc to ensure there definitely was a film on it.It's a translucent plastic film on the clear sides and top. They made the bottom from black matte acrylic, and a brown paper film is on it.All in all, it probably took me half an hour to have it completed. Time well spent.It would be helpful if the manufacturer included an assembly video.

If you want to display a book in this case, don't buy it. The plexiglass is frosted not clear. You cannot see through it.

I am recently married and part of our photography package was a good quality linen album of highlights from our day. I was concerned about the dust demolishing the quality of the book overtime so I bought this case to protect it long term. The case was easy to assemble and even came with a cloth and gloves to reduce smudging and dust particles. Doubled as a display case which looks more organized on our shelving.

Works perfect. Used for displaying a very important book.

It takes a bit of time to put together but displays a very nice signed script that I purchased for my son
