I bought this amp to use with a homebuilt 8-inch cabinet. I only have it for a couple of days. The sound is really excellent. I would define it as american sound, with the characteristic mid range scoop.I tried it with my hollow body Gretsch guitar, which has relatively low output pickups. The sound is so beautiful, it fits really good with my vintage style guitar.I was not able to get any overdrive at all, even with the gain at max. That is not a bad thing, you can always use an overdrive pedal. I actually tried it with my angry driver pedal, and it works great, both with mild OD or with high distortion. This is actually a great amp to use with pedals.Summary of my observations:+very small size, same as a boss pedal.+excellent clean sound.+great for pedals+beautiful, i think this is also important for music instruments/equipment.Limitations:-small power. More than enough for home practicing, but i am not sure you can use for rehearsal with a drummer.-EQ controls and gain are not very effective or easy to use. I found that the best way to adjust the tone is actually through the gain knob, which instead of increasing crunch, it increases the bass response. In summary, it is a wonderful little amp for this price, but i think it is intended for amateurs/beginners only. Dont expect pro features for this price. But definitely much better than most crappy cheap combos. I look forward to keep playing with it and try all the features like the aux input, headphones and effects loop.

It's small. It's built like a tank. It has some weight to it. And, it's very different from the the other Hotone amps. It's the cleaner one. Weirdly, these little amps do not respond like a normal gain/volume amp. They make dirty amps and clean amps. Their dirty amps never really get clean, even with the gain down. This Siva Boogie doesn't get dirty when it's gained up, either. But, if you dial everything all the way up, It starts to overdrive. So, expect it to be loud if you want some drive. So, what on earth is it for? It's for using pedals with, and that's how I use it, and that's why I bought this particular one. It's because it can be clean at a decent volume, and I can use a pedal to get overdrive. If you have no pedals, skip this one. If you have pedals, this is the Hotone you want.I have 4 guitar rigs in my studio, from high-wattage half-stacks to high-wattage combos. The only problem I had was, I needed to run my amps really loud to get the power amps crunchy. The solution a lot of players are going for now, is to get a low-wattage rig, and crank it up knowing the volume will never be overly loud. That's why you'd want a 5-watt amp like this. And this amp delivers. 5 Watts. I run it at about 3/4 of its power and it is a rock clean, with a hint of drive if you pick hard. At this volume, you can still talk over the top of it, if you talk a little loudly. Kick in an overdrive pedal, and it goes to hard rock or metal, or whatever you set on your pedal. The effects loop is great if you want to run a delay or reverb pedal.Well, I love it. It's quirky and weirdly unconcerned of where you set the gain. It wants to stay clean, and it's that reason I like it so much. It's not for everyone. If you have a home studio, though, it may be the perfect fit for you. It's easy to dial in great tones that you'll actually use.
