The waterproof gasket is made so cheap it doesn't seal at all. This is a terrible product. Spend the extra money on reputable company like renogy and keep your system safe! Returned item

This is a very cool little fuse. I didn't realize these existed until I started looking around for solar fuses based on recommendations. This is dead simple to hook up because it just fits inline with your regular MC-4 connectors. I haven't blown the fuse so I can't say 100% that this works, but I see no reason it wouldn't. It's very simple mechanically and electrically.

Building my first solar system for camper. All how to videos I viewed said you need a fuse between your solar panels and the charge controller. This clipped securely to the MC4 connectors without issue. Happy to have the protection.

This will get the job done, but mine came with the little petals spread out too much to make a good connection with the fuse. One side in particular was extremely loose. I just bent them inward so that it was making good contact and reassembled.Even though this was a super easy fix, I don't really see this as a small problem. A loose connection like this is potentially a serious issue to a system, especially if being used in a vehicle. It's not always readily apparent, as it may ohm out properly but not hold up to vibration or extended use with a loose connection like that. It can provide intermittent connection, causing serious problems to the entire system that aren't immediately noticeable, and very difficult to locate. Not to mention arcing can cause a lot of heat.With the exception of the internal petals, build quality is decent. Weather seals are all in place, and all connections look good. I might recommend some more permanent label if you want to remember the fuse spec- I can't imagine the label that's on this is going to hold up to weather. I'm certainly going to go ahead and use this. I don't even recommend against this product- I just strongly recommend checking the connections with the fuse before use.
