Do not waste your money. This step/scooter was rated for an adult and used normally by a 12 year old. When he was riding next to me the gram suddenly buckled. This was within a few months of purchase. I contacted Hudora June 13 and was asked for further information and photos on June 18. I followed up June 23 and was told to be patient. I followed up again in the second week of July and was told sorry we can’t help you as you don’t live in Germany. Absolutely crap customer service. They knew from the beginning where I was located so why ask for more information and imply you will akssist if you had no intention to do so. Expensive and I am left with a pile of junk within three months. Do let waste your money!

I'm a 26 year old young man who lives on 3rd fIoor of a house just the edge of the city centre (of Cardiff), and I've long maligned the fact that I didn't have anywhere to store a bike. Then about a month ago I met someone my age with a scooter and my eyes were opened to the convenience! Speeding through the city centre on my 2km journey to work (12-15 mins depending on energy levels) and yet both portable and storable.So I set out to buy an appropriate scooter, and after a lot of searching decided on the Hudora Big Wheel. And I'm very glad I did.The big wheels were the feature that sold it to me, and they've proved very useful. They deal with bumps and paving stones etc far far better than a small wheeled scooter, which is essential on my route through the city centre in the morning. The wheels are also surprisingly grippy, so you won't skid *too much* on a wet day (got to watch out for splashes up the back of your legs though!) . It's fine in the damp, but I have to watch what shoes I'm wearing otherwise they slide all over the place!The steering column locking feature is ingenious and very useful, feels very secure in use and has a satisfying click to it when you set up the scooter. And it all folds away in a compact enough size to carry around and stick under the desk at work.The bad bits: as another review mentions, it does swing about a bit if you lift it off the ground while walking (up onto a pavement for example or up the stairs to my flat) so do expect a couple of bruises on your ankles until you get used to that. The foot plate is maybe 1cm too narrow for my taste, so it's a delicate balancing act sometimes to get both feet on it. In fairness though it's got a bigger footplate than most scooters on the market, and it's a minor problem. You do get a few odd looks in the street, but I'm a bit eccentric so I kinda like being the suited guy on the scooter!In summary, I love the Hudora scooter, its holding up well after 40 miles of use. Oh and my friend who introduced me to scooters is now rather jealous of my big wheels!UPDATE: Following two months (and probably 100+ miles) use, I just had my first accident (minor fortunately). One of the bolts which holds the bracket between the base board and the steering column failed as I went over a bump (see this page for the bolt in question: [...]). The scooter lost all its rigidity, and I went backwards ending up on my bum. Fortunately the only injury was to my pride! Upon inspection, the thread on one side of the bolt had disappeared. I'm not sure whether or not it was faulty or had naturally unscrewed over the course of use, but I suspect I may have been riding dangerously for a while. I stand by my original review, this is a great scooter, but I'd advise regularly checking and tightening that bolt, you'll need an Allen key. The other bolts are all still tight. Replacements are available on the Hudora website at the above link, but there is a hefty shipping charge to the UK (18 Euros for a 1 Euro bolt) so best to take the precautionary approach.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with this product!I scrutinized all the scooter reviews for ages and I'm just so pleased with my choice.The mechanism to fold the scooter down is brilliant and literally takes a second to do. The handlebars are easily adjustable too so if I'm feeling super considerate on the train, I make it even smaller by reducing the height and I even unclip the handles and put them to the side using the brackets that are there for that reason (they are on elastic so you won't lose one!). I put the scooter on the luggage rack or under my seat, what ever is easiest at the time. If the train is really quite, I'll just keep it assembled and prop it up on its stand.The strap is very sturdy but if you want to carry without the strap it's only 4kg so nice and light. The big wheels are great so any uneven pavements or bobbles by road crossings are easily tackled. I've heard that the smaller wheeled scooters can flip you off if faced with bumps and this one certainly can cope with that. It is quite noisy I suppose but I've got my iPod on so it doesn't bother me. It's quite useful as people hear you coming and move out of the way!People whinge a lot about scooters breaks. This one is just fine. If I'm rattling down a particularly steep hill I will keep it pressed down to control the speed and if in a highly populated street I'm good at using it to hover behind people before finding a gap and whizzing off. I have used the scooter in torrential rain and it performs well. The trick to slowing down is just always look ahead to minimise any surprises. You can always jump off if necessary. I always scoot in flats or trainers and I can carry a normal handbag on one shoulder. It is good to have an over the shoulder bag though and swinging it to the back so you can really go for some speed :) If I need to whizz into a shop for groceries or supplies I can hook the plastic bag over the handle but I wouldn't do this if I had a long way to go.The colour is vibrant and looks great. Being female, I didn't fancy a black one but thought pink was too much so this is the perfect compromise - a unisex colour for sure.As a scooter convert, I have to say you have to be prepared for a bit of teasing. My friends think I've finally lost my marbles, you do get stared at a lot in the street, most scooting folk you see are children BUT to counter that, you get places FAST, people smile and wave at you, fellow commuters actually speak to you on the train and for me, I'm saving over £120 a month by cutting out tube travel plus I'm keeping fit (alternate your legs!). I think if your child scoots, it would be a great way to keep up with them. The amount of harassed parents I see hoofing after their scooting children that would benefit from getting on two wheels and joining them are plentiful.I couldn't recommend this product or scooting enough. I'm just sad it took me so long to get round to buying one!

Ein gaaanz toller Roller! Ich freue mich riesig, das wir dieses Modell gefunden haben.Er ist leicht, fährt ganz schwungvoll und stabil und die Farben sind auch total schick. Er steht in meinem Hausflur, immer startbereit und hat schon einige Ausflüge ins Dorf unternommen. Leider gibt es bei uns auch einiges Kopfsteinpflaster, da ist er wiederum nicht zu empfehlen. Praktisch finde ich auch das Trageband, dann kann er schnell mal zugeklappt und umgehangen werden. Ich bin 1,62 groß und empfinde die Höhe vom Lenker als angenehm. Wir haben hier die höchste Einstellung verwendet. Mein Mann möchte sich nun ebenfalls ein solches Fahrgerät kaufen! 😄
